RGB Heatmap Demo

RGB histograms are used in photography to analyze distribution of colors in an image. Typically, red, green and blue components of RGB colors are shown in separate histograms which does not tell the whole truth. For example, the following two images have identical red/green/blue color histograms although clearly different.

HeatMiner RGB heatmaps show the color distribution as it truly is. For example, the RGB heatmap below visualizes the color distribution of the bird image above.

HeatMiner uses red, green and blue color levels of pixels as (x,y,z)-coordinates and visualizes existing RGB-combinations. This gives the correct overall impression of the color distribution, unlike when viewing red, green and blue histograms separately. As mentioned earlier, the other image next to the bird had identical red/color/blue histograms. However, the RGB heatmap shown below reveals significant differencies. Instead of bright and clean colors of the bird image, the other image has mostly dirty color tones which all look pretty much the same.
